used LXI - JERRY SMITH - 08-05-2007 06:47 Thank you Paul for the favorable response. Although BB gives excellent service, you can also get excellent service right down the road from them at Bealky RV. If you are in FL, you can go to Parliament for excellent service. Holland, in Michigan and San Dieago have an excellent reputation. Anyone who services RVs can service the RV stuff, and anyone who services buses and over the road trucks can handle the chassis and engine "stuff". Parts are more readily available for BBs then any of the other brands I have owned. Jerry Smith -------Original Message------- From: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Date: 08/04/07 22:36:44 To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [WanderlodgeForum] used LXI Blue Bird coaches are generally of excellent quality. The chassis was built as an over-the-road passenger coach (or, before 1989 as a school bus). These vehicles are built for long commercial service. Most of the components are from standard, heavy duty bus/truck manufacturers -- Detroit Diesel, Cummins, Allison, etc. So "factory" service is not necessarily much of an issue. Blue Bird has had some financial difficulties in recent years and the Wanderlodge division was just sold to Complete Coach Works, 1863 Service Court, Riverside, CA 92507. Phones: Office: 951 684 9585 Fax: 951 684 2023; visit their website at: <http://www.completecoach.com> Factory support for older Wanderlodges has been acceptable in the past -- and a fairly good supply of unique parts is usually available. It remains to be seen exactly what support will be provided in the future... but the new owners, seem to be making the plans to maintain an excellent relationship with current owners. (Indeed, a representative will attend the Southwest Blue Bird Rally in October at Buelton, CA.) I will say that I haven't needed to call the factory yet, after owning my coach for over a year ... but the support I receive from this list has been outstanding and has added immensely to the value of my coach.
