Have to cancel our RATS rally reservations; anyone interested in getting our spot? - KP Marsh - 09-11-2007 15:58

Bob,

Thanks for the clarification. We made our reservations immediately following
last year's RATS. Our intentions were honorable when we posted earlier today on
the forum that we had to cancel. We had no idea there was a waiting list
specifically for Birders when we posted. We learned about the waiting list
"after the fact."

Like I said earlier, it was not our intention to step on anyone's toes. We just
wanted to make sure the spot went to a Birder who wanted to attend RATS as
opposed to someone from the general public who just happened to call in right
after we cancel ours.

We will call the campground tomorrow, cancel our reservations and let them
decide who on the waiting list gets it.

Nuff said.

There are spots being held for birder and there is a standby waiting list and
the campground has the list.
so what I am saying is why should people be a loud to jump the line .

Bob,

Is the waiting list specifically for Birders???? We don't know. That is why we
posted on the forum because we wanted to make sure that our spot would go to a
Birder that wanted to attend the RATS Rally rather than whoever happened to call
in to the campground "just looking for a spot for the weekend."

PLEASE let us know. If the waiting list is specifically for those Birders
wanting to attend RATS then we'll just cancel and let it go to the next Birder
on the list.

Thanx..... didn't mean to step on anyone's toes. Just trying to make sure a
Birder gets the spot as opposed to "Joe Schmo just passin' thru on vacation"
with no interest or knowledge of RATS.

Should I have done something different?

We waited for someone to respond to our post. We then cancelled and gave the
park that persons name. He then called and took our place. If you just cancel, I
presume the next person on the list gets the spot.

So Leroy, how does this standby list work? Do we just cancel our res and they
automatically let the next person on the list know? Or does it require a little
more coordination than that?

Your input is appreciated!

for a limited time. It's easy to coordinate but if you snooze you lose. I hate
to miss it, it's a great show. That will be $1.000,lol

REALLY hate to have to do this but we are going to have to cancel our RATS
reservations we made last fall. Our travel schedule doesn't allow us to make it
this year as we must be in Austin TX by no later than Nov 1st.

If anyone is interested in taking our spot as we cancel please let us know SOON
so that we can coordinate the timing and let the campground know who will be
calling them to reconfirm the spot they are holding for us.

RATS NEXT YEAR FOR SURE!

Have to cancel our RATS rally reservations; anyone interested in getting our spot? - Leroy Eckert - 09-11-2007 23:54

Everyone has a different idea. Perhaps John Finn could provide written direction
for next year. He does not have anything else to do.

It just doesn't pay to be nice, so I will be certain not to be in the future.

.Yes call the campground and canceled and let the campground go to the next
one on the stand by list.
that way nobody jump the line.
