PT40 Radiator - Terry Neal - 08-08-2006 03:21

Am searching for a replacement radiator for my 82 PT40. The core is
failing and I plan to replace it and/or the entire assembly. Blue Bird
does not have any source or radiators available so thought someone may
have replaced the radiator. Will rebuild the fan assembly and replace
all cooling system components too while everything is out of the coach.
Any help is appreciated.

Terry any good radiator shop should be able to replace the core
and make it like new. Can you take it out or do you want them to do
it?

Godan industries is a major supplier of cores for over the road
trucks and buses.

Terry, I just talked to Todd Parker, owner of Parker Repair and Radiator
Service. He said to bring that to Livingston, and he will fix you right up. His
phone is 406-222-3166 115 North M St.

Thanks much for your reply Tom. The radiator is out of the coach &
when I checked it over, I decided that I wanted to replace it. I'll
give Godan a try. Maybe they can build a core for me? I will
probably increase the overall cooling capacity at the same time.

Terry
You might want to Give General Radiator a call 1-800-336-2444.
I have used them for an MCI9 as well as the wanderlodge.

Terry, It may be easier to just have your local radiator shop replace the core.
I did this to my generator radiator last month and it actually was cheaper.
Using the existing brass(copper?) reservoirs and new core, I believe that the
radiator is now solid.

Thanks much for the info Allen. I called them and talked with Jim. I
asked them to build me a new core for my radiator. Sounds like they
know their business. Said they do all the work for Chicago Transit
Authority. Good price too for a core that will add about 30-40% cooling
capacity to the old style core. Thanks again.
