New replacement Rear camera- 450 and 380? - dentmac - 07-28-2014 12:02 [attachment=1340] Hi, I have replaced the rear camera on the 450 using the same cable and Panasonic monitor. The original camera was a MITO ecx 100. A double camera with B/W and colour. It is no longer made. I spoke with a very helpful rep at Mito corp who suggested using an adapter that they have available with the Mito CM 32 http://mito-oem.com/product.php?id=CM32AH The adapter requires 4 soldered connections that can be done on a bench. Then a simple plug in. I mounted the camera behind the glass but the IR caused double reflection so I had to mount it outside, drilling a 5/8 hole in the FG under the old glass. Drill the hole off centre to give the wire some room to allow tipping. The unit comes with a grommet. It was made for metal but it works with touch of adhesive -- unlikely that it would come out anyway. Cost about $140 Picture of camera installed. I have a nice blind spot I would like to eliminate. RE: New replacement Rear camera- 450 and 380? - dentmac - 07-29-2014 11:08 Ernie, The 450 came with side cameras and a front camera.(good for driving with the front blinds down ) There is a dash switch to change cameras. There is also the capability to view through all the cameras while in bed (on the TV) The switch to change cameras is above the headboard. The side cameras activate with the turn signals. There appear to be kits available, but wiring may be a PIA. Mito has a couple with 3, 4 camera inputs and "Trigger" wiring. Best one appears to be this--4 views at once would be neat for security/curiousity. http://mito-oem.com/product.php?id=CM709M2 Ross (07-28-2014 19:01)ernie ekberg Wrote: Ross do you have the side mount cameras? I wish I could take them to social events so they can save me there, too. RE: New replacement Rear camera- 450 and 380? - ernie ekberg - 07-30-2014 18:56 Ross- do they sell to dealers or public. I ordered the system today with the backup and side cameras. My old OEM black and white camera finally expired. I will have to pull the new cable all the way to the front.
