LOCKED IN / LOCKED OUT - al perna - 07-15-2015 10:06

Hello WaGu Smile

this morning we found out you can be locked in as easy as you can be locked out . Remember the advise to disguard the car lock as it is prone to failure ? Well when I was at Parliament I had them replace the Green Plastic piece that holds the rod on with the new metal piece . Well this worked like a charm and I am glad I did it cause this piece came in handy when the same green part that also holds the inside door release working .

so next time you have some time remove the panel and replace the green plastic piece with the new metal piece from Parliament . This also would mean you could then as I will put back in operation your easy to reach car push lock and not need to bend down to use the dead bolt .

Now as to how I was able to get out of the coach , that is another story I wish to forget lol

Hi Al,
Do you have a part number for the new metal piece?
My door is also missing part of the mechanism that locks /unlocks the door deadbolt when using the keypad so we have to use the key in the deadbolt. The solenoid is in place but the rod doesn't connect to the lock... I've considered making a piece to connect them up but it would be good to know what the original looked like. Also wondering if the mechanism was problematic (locking PO in or out) so they removed it.
Thanks,
John

no John , and I am sorry, I don't know how to post pics yet or I would show you a picture . I would call Parliament parts, and ask for the BB Metal door Latch piece that replaces the Green Plastic one known to disintegrate over time . It is a clip that holds the rod in the hole Smile I would order a few so you are a hero at a upcoming Rally haha

Thank Al. I'll give Parliament a call. I do want to be a hero...I wouldn't want my wife having to crawl through a window Smile

that is funny John , and it was my suggestion to Erika hahaha . she decided to ask a truck driver to open the door lol it worked .

you want to ask for Dan in parts he is the man Smile

Al,

I don't think there's anything that hasn't happened to you in that thing! LOL! You're indisputably my Wanderlodge hero! Smile

lol , you are funny David . The problem is some people think, either this is a bad coach, or I just don t keep up with repairs ? Now I guess you could say there is a little of that going on, the repair part , but I think if you drive these things, or anything for that mater stuff is bound to fail . That's my story and I am sticking to it Smile
