Another thing about the LXi's PWM hydraulic fan drive control is that it trims the fan speed when at high engine rpms. The idea is max S60 horsepower is around 1800 rpm. The fan drive control is programmed to deliver maximum fan speed when the engine is delivering maximum hp. As the engine revs progress from 1800 to 2100 the fan speed is clamped at the 1800 value, trimmed. This way additional engine horsepower isn't consumed by the fan when the cooling needs are actually dropping.

The PTOs' on many Wanderlodges have been changed to the wet spline system. I have yet to hear of one that has experienced a seal failure.

No, I don't think seal failure is the issue. In a wet spline set up there's already a return path for the fluid. Any metal laden fluid will get thru. A seal failure isn't required. (I missed that earlier, I thought Jeff said spline failure).

at the same time does it step in the fan engage? and on another topic does the s 60 computer reserve max hp for cruise control only like the peterbuilts do?

On my LXi the fan turns on at 200 deg F and off at 192 or after 180 seconds. The weir stats start to open at 190 deg F and are fully open at 205. Overheating is 212; engine checklight and power derate is 220 deg F. I think it's true that max DDEC IV power is only delivered on cruise control.

I will be in Clearwater this week to address the PTO and total cooling units. If anyone knows the parts numbers please pass them on as I will have Parliament replace all this week . I am here to final fix a little bend we had to the slide skirt , and figure with 4 days to spare we might just as well get this handled.

thank s Jeff,

I also want the part numbers on the relays and other components . One is on the back of the fan the other on the frame rail .

I think some information you seek is in this thread.http://www.wanderlodgegurus.com/showthread.php?tid=9884

thank s Greg. The parts I want are more on the control side of the system .Chuck recently did this upgrade and may have some pics and parts numbers for us here .
