Have a friend who had one of these. All European components. If I remember correctly, the suspension is Renault. Very well built. Also, one of these with a modified engine, set a land speed record, for a motor home.
Ernie parked in his yard after Katrina, for several months, to work in the New Orleans area.
Some of the owners have changed the engine and trans(due to parts availability) to a Buick V6, with an automatic. Talk about power to weight ratio!

I remember looking at one of these, new, at a BMW dealer in Atlanta. Must have been 1986, at that time, very impressive unit, especially compared to what was available from the plastic palace providers.
