Fuel Sending Unit 80FC33 - vabroker1 - 08-11-2005 12:46 I just got finished replacing the fuel sending unit on my 1980 33ft. It was a breeze. Determined from the gauge I needed a 240 to 33 ohm sending unit. Found the sending unit from Sun - http://www.sunpro.com/product_detail.php?pid=16355 Purchased locally for $25. You can get it online for about $15. It was an exact replacement with a few adjustments. Prior to installation I checked the range by grounding the sending unit and attaching the gauge lead. I moved the sending unit arm to confirm gauge response. Pulled the carpet back from between the beds. 1.Removed the 2 screws holding the access panel. 2. Removed the access panel. 3. Removed the ground strap. 4. Removed the gauge lead. 5. Removed the remaing 4 screws holding the sending unit to the tank. 6. Removed the sending unit. Noting which way the float faced. 7. Cleaned the old gasket from the tank. 8. I laid the old and new sending unit side by side. 9. I adjusted the new unit to match the pivot point and total travel of the old unit. 10. Did one dry run to make sure the guage was lining up properly. Only one way to install and have hole line up. 11. Lightly sealed the gasket to the sending unit. 12. Installed the sending unit with the 5 screws and ground strap. 13. Installed the the guage lead. 14. Installed the access panel with the 2 screws. Took about 30 minutes total.
