gen door radiator update - Rose Mary - 08-18-2005 03:07 Thanks for all the help. I was finally able to get that last bottom bolt off the shroud, helped having another pair of hands to hold the radiator just so so I could reach it. It is at the shop and will find out today if it can be repaired (hope)or will require a new core.... Robbie Wood sent some great photos of an easier way (4 bolts) to move & turn the radiator & shroud so it can be removed together then disassembled. Looks like a whole lot easier way to go than the way I did it and am going to try to put it back in that way. Wish I had gotten them before I did it the other way...ha! Would be good for an article in the archives. These forums are great and if I hadn't been lurking and learning I would likely not have attempted this myself or considered keeping my little brothers bird and using it for awhile. Having so many bird owners/mechanics willing to share is a blessing. I have spent way too much this last year at 200 here, 300 there, +more etc. mostly just learning to use all the systems and doing little things that my brother would never had paid anyone to do. When organizing the outside storage before our last outing found extra belts, filters and hoses of every description. Likely 1 for everything. Thankfully, he was an excellent mechanic & fix it and had everything up to snuff. It has been a most interesting experience learning the how to's of all the systems and finding everything works....once I find the right buttons, switches, sequence etc. Again, thank you everyone. I'm sure there will be some challenges getting it back together...until then Rose Mary 82 FC 33 overcast & cooler in Oregon this am |
