engine removal - britten44 - 04-05-2026 17:20

I have a mechanic that is going to help me remove the 3208T from my 1988 FC35. It spun a bearing and needs to be rebuilt. Can any provide some step by step instructions or advice? I am assuming that I will drop the engine and trans out the bottom and slide it out the front??

Thanks for any help!

Doug

Doug,

IIRC, you pull the front end (bumper, grill, etc), then either pull the radiator assembly or swing it open (if that Bird has a swing radiator) and then pull the engine straight out the front.

Many folks put in a swing radiator just for better access to the engine front, if yours doesn't have it.
