FORT MYERS AREA RV PARK/CAMPGROUND RECOMMENDATION - John - 09-13-2005 05:01 I have an old high school classmate, that he and his wife are retired now and are now full-timing, they are visiting with me right now. They have just come off of a four month cross Canada trip and after some time visiting relatives and friends in the southeast, are interested in finding a nice campground in the Fort Myers, Florida area to stay for a period of two months starting in early December. He is an avid golfer, but this is not the deciding factor, but a beach front spot would be nice, but again is not a necessity. I'm hoping that there are some people on these forums that have actually visited an RV Park/Campground in the Fort Myers area and can recommend one for them to stay at, any help is appreciated. I know she is recuperating and maybe she will chime in on this. ernie [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] FORT MYERS AREA RV PARK/CAMPGROUND RECOMMENDATION - Johnny M Slone - 09-13-2005 14:15 I spent a month last winter at Cypress Woods campground in Fort Myers. It is located at about exit 139 1/2 mile off I-75. Really nice big concrete pads. Not real close to the beach but easy to get about anywhere in the area. The campgrounds closer to the beach are tight to get Wanderlodge in and out of. Some of them I would not even try. The closer you get to the beach the more traffic there is and any place you go is slow. I'm not a golfer but the whole area is golf country and I'm sure any place you choose will be close to a golf course. Naples has some nice campgrounds also and I found that its about the same as Fort Myers. The nicer campgrounds are closer to the Interstate. The closer to the beach the smaller the pads and the more traffic. If you are interested in Cypress Woods I have a contact that may save some on the rent. The Misses and I plan to spend the month of Feb there this winter. Johnny M Slone Pikeville.
