RIV/RATS OBSERVATIONS (off topic/long) - Scott - 11-08-2005 02:26 Well Judi and I just got home tonight from RIV and RATS rally. After a mad dash for John Bleakley's for a new water heater installation..hmm call them FRIDAY morning at 8:15am and pull out of the dealership at 1:00pm with a new hot water tank...we have a FC REAR BATH..Kinda impressive! I spent that much time trying to figure out how I was going to fit into that closet.. Several Flea Markets, antique shops and a relaxing ride home I was thinking about the last 11 days and I wanted to share some observations.. Our trip started out with a Convoy to Perry..two old FC's and a newer wide body..laughing, joking on the cb's, and Bob Gradowski giving directions from the rear of the pack and Woody pointing out my every driving mistake..thank goodness he did when I tried to burn up the retarder he was the first one under the coach with the temp guage...As always "THANKS WOODY" When most pulled into the Fairgrounds we were parked together..call it what you will..there was NO mistake that it was BB folks meeting enjoying each other..even working on coaches till 11:00PM The group parked together conducted themselves as TRUE BLUEBIRD OWNERS! Owners helping each other, meeting each other, tightening relationships that have outlasted and will outlast many coaches! Many mechanical problems arose and many were fixed. Battery problems, aternator problems, awning issues, water leaks, ice machine fixes, hot water tanks, genset choke adjustments, headlight upgrades, new owners with questions about their coach, riv nut replacements the list is long and NO ONE HAD TO ASK FOR HELP ..folks just dove in when they knew about the specifics. Forum Members entertaining others..great entertainment at that, keyboard,guitar,drums,vocals....sorry fellas maybe next year the paycheck will be larger! I also was taken aback by the number of "LURKERS" I met that are on the forum!! The folks that read the forum every day.. I think that it fabulous..several have never posted and yet spent alot of money for their BlueBird pointing out that the knowledge base here is unequaled ..hmm several get valuable information to pass on to other BB owners professionally. Each forum member should be comended for that.. This is way tooo long.. Finally, my observation..Judi and I am returning from a tremendous time with some of my friends that have similar interests that don't have to be asked for help, input and don't have hidden agendas. THEY ARE THE FOLKS I want to have rally's with ..not a false, illwilled bone in any of them. ALL of them are there for the right reasons..to enjoy each other, enjoy their BlueBirds and well JUST HAVE A DARNED GOOD TIME..which afterall isnt that is what a rally is about??? Thanks to all that attended to allow Judi and I to share a wonderful time with everyone. We will do it again..sooner rather than later!
