Turbo woes - Ernest Ekberg - 12-14-2005 11:43 My turbo has been dispensing a fine mist of oil, lately. Most of it has been all over the engine compartment, my Yukon, and anyone else that follows too closely. Brenda's Uncle, the Detroit Diesel Doctor, with of course, Bim Burt's and my "help" removed that yesterday. Today, I took it to Majestic turbo in waco, tx to have them evaluate it. They decided it needed new seals and bearings. they bench tested it, and cleaned up the rest of the housing, etc for the tune of $350 bucks and after 3 hours, I was headed home. Tomorrow will be the reinstallation process and a test out on the highway. Hopefully, my coach, also known as the only no rust coach in existance will join the rest of the crowd and will develop some much needed rust of her own. Results- tomorrow- keep you fingers crossed. I also added their name and website in our Databas under service centers. Good people- quality workmanship, fair prices. Ernie Ekberg-83pt40 in Texas |
