ADDITIONAL 4 INCH AIR INLET FOR A CAT 3208NA - John - 01-12-2006 00:01 I have finally finished the additional 4" air intake for the air cleaner on my 3208NA powered FC model 'Bird. The end result I am very happy with, but I have not had a chance to road test the 'Bird yet to see if there is any difference in performance, similar to what others that have done similar modifications have claimed. Since I have removed almost all of what was remaining of the dash air and the compressor for it was already gone when I purchased the 'Bird, I choose to just run the generator and the roof airs for my air conditioning while I'm driving, I like that meat locker feeling with all three airs running at the same time. This allowed me to use the area where originally the air conditioner compressor was located to route an additional 4" air inlet and ducting, which in effect doubles the air inlet capacity, so the old Cat should at least breathe a lot better now. You can see the results of my efforts at; http://upload.pbase.com/iamflagman/image/30053636 There are two pages with photos and details about this modification. Now I have to get busy at finishing the generator insulation and sound deadening project, by partially closing up the back side of the generator compartment, underneath the 'Bird, that was interrupted for the air inlet modification. That will go on hold until next week, as it is going to be in the mid 70's today and some of my other retired buddies and I are going to go ride our motorcycles and enjoy the weather.........AH THE RETIRED LIFE!!!!
