If you are looking for old school Florida charm, try Cedar Key RV resort.
http://www.cedarkeyrvresort.com/

Its about 5-7 miles from Town. Bank owned and operated, great rates and Big rig friendly with very large spaces. Connie and Cliff are the current work campers / managers. The locals say it's like Key west was 20-30 years ago. Plenty of eateries in town and a Walmart in Chieftain as you roll in with other box stores. Our favorite lunch place is a bar / raw bar / restaurant called "steamers" in town on the waterfront. You can't miss it, it's upstairs overlooking the water, a wall of glass and outside bar rail overlooking the waterfront, the fresh fish sandwiches are great and although I am not a raw bar guy, guests we've taken there have told me the oysters were excellent. If you have a significant other that likes canvas bags of all types, not just ladies handbags, Cedar key Canvas is on the left as you enter town. They do all their stuff on the premises made in the good ole USA. You can get anything you want made up including but not limited to your favorite collegiate team. They ship world wide. Order what you want if you do not find what you want in the store and ship it home!WinkIdea The pizza and Italian food place in the center of town (on your left as you head into town) just as you hit the water is pretty good too. Get some to go and go to the waterfront park with picnic tables to eat and walk the dogs!

Love Cedar Key, great bars and shops. Never took RV there (always took bike), but I asked the local Police if we could park overnight at the boat landing and they said they wouldn't care. I never checked this RV park out cause it wasn't on isle, but now I will.

Pete were you able to fit your 42' ok at Cedar Key RV?
We were there in January for 10 days in our 39' but not sure if the 45' will fit.
Really loved the place and would like to return.

Forest, yes, 45 footers will fit....... the current work campers know which sites work and will place you correctly, there are probably only a 1/2 dozen that would not work for a big rig, MOST will fit up to 45 feet! They have a LOT of rallies there, we were there for a month last year and 3 rallies showedTongueRolleyes One was a vets rally, they had a BALL and plenty of BIG rigs!
