LXi Koni FSD Shocks - David Brady - 02-23-2006 01:37 I spoke with Justin at Koni. Koni is now road testing a set of FSD, Frequency Selective Dampeners, for the LXi. These are the shocks that ship on the M380 and 450LXi with great acclaim. They should be available by the end of summer. FSD shocks vary the dampening rate based on the oscillation frequency and speed. This means that the shock is stiffer for slow moving undulations, lane changes for example, and softer for fast high frequency bumps, cobblestone and bridge abutments for example. The valve change inside the shock is passive, no electronics involved, so they should be as reliable as the SP1's and SP2's we currently use. They reportedly work wonders on the ride and handling.
