Single axle pusher models - TeamConfuzed@... - 03-15-2006 23:03 What is the feeling among the Faithful on the single axle models. They didn't stay in production that long from what I have seen. Are there any inherent problems with the design? I own an '87 FC, the little brother to the SP. The SP is a popular model with many happy owners. The engine is the 300 HP 3208 with the ZF transmission. From what owners tell me this engine and transmission are as adequate as most Wanderlodges. The SP has more head room than the FC's and naturally has more room around the front seats. There is always a debate over engine maintenance, which is easier to work on, the front engine FC or the rear engine SP. The only complaint I hear from the SP owners is the lack of the downshift switch under the throttle peddle that the FC has. As far as only one rear axle goes, the newer 380 is also single axle and that doesn't seem to be a problem. Hope this helps.
