90 40WB Will Not Crank Over - joedana0502 - 03-19-2006 12:50 I have a 1990 40WB that will not crank over. No voltage at the ignition switch. I have one red wire and the rest of the wires are those small rigid black wires. One of the black wires has 7 volts on it and the rest of the wires have 0 volts. Does anybody know which wire should be the hot wire and where does it come from before it gets to the ignition switch. The batteries are all good. Thank for any help. If you go in the engine compartment to start you must first flip a toggle in the engine compartment to 'rear' (That toggle has a center position that will disable both switches), turning the engine compartment ig. key to 'on' will only light the shift selector in the bus. the dash will notlight up. If none of this works, I would hold the 'AUX.'switch on the dash that combines all the batteries to one loop and try to start. I think if you try wat Mike and Curt said, you have weak batteries and starting on weak batteries is a sure way to burn a starter. Gregory O'Connor hungover and 10 lbs fatter 90 40WB Will Not Crank Over - joedana0502 - 03-20-2006 12:04 I'm not sure why but the engine did start from the switch in the back. I am sure I tried it before, anyway it starts from the back. Still nothing from the front ignition switch. When it started I also received an engine Alert CIS Signal Voltage High. Not sure what that means are if that is part of the problem. I am going to buy a signal tracer tester so I can trace out the wires. I can't see where the wires go and I do not have a set of plans.
