ANDY- THAT PS PUMP IS BUILT LIKE A DUMP TRUCK AND IS VERY EASY TO
REBUILD,TWO BEARINGS AND ONE SEAL. I DO NOT HAVE NUMBERS FOR THE
BEARINGS OR OIL SEAL BUT THEY ARE COMMON AND I PICKED THEM UP AT THE
LOCAL BEARING HOUSE. JUST WALKED OUT TO THE BUS TO SEE IF I HAD THE
NUMBERS BUT DO NOT. ABOUT THE ONLY WAY TO TEAR UP THAT PUMP IS TO RUN
IT DRY FOR A GOOD WHILE,YOU CANT HARDLEY DO THAT BECAUSE WITH IT DRY
YOU CANT STEER THE BUS.
ONE OTHER PROBLEM I HAVE IS A LEAK IN THE STEERING BOX. I HAVE NOT
GOTTEN TO IT YET BUT IT IS SOMETHING YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK AT ON YOUR
RIG.WHILE YOU HAVE IT ALL OPEN WASH IT ALL GOOD WITH A DEGREASER SO YOU
CAN TELL IF YOU HAVE OTHER DRIPS. I USE SIMPLE GREEN ON SMALL JOBS AND
IT SMELLS GOOD. GO FOR IT.

| Does any body know where one could find a new or re-built power steering pump? It would be for a 1991 WLSP 36. Are parts then really impossible to find if you have an older coach? How do you guys keep theese older 1991 and back running? Juergen in PA 1991 WLSP36 |

Juergen,
Go into the Parts Database and search on "Power Steering Pump". There
are 6 references posted by members. Mike H. recommended Power
Steering Specialists in Columbus OH area at 800-235-3076, so I might
start with them.

| Thanks to all the folks that sent me helpful tips. I was finally able to get a re-man Power Steering Pump from my local Blue-Bird school bus dealer. Blue-Bird in Ga told me before that they are unable to locate a pump supplier. My dealer here found one AFTER spending some time on the phone and the Net. Turned out that all of us birders may have 2 sources of part numbers. First source - CHASSIS PARTS CATALOG. This must be a more general type with some part numbers that are not good any more. Then we have a SERVICE PARTS SHEET. This is where the part numbers are actually the ones used in your bird. And that is what my BB dealer used. to find this elusive pump.
