Toad question - davidkerryedwards - 05-23-2006 10:37 I haven't pulled a toad with the Bird. I just set up a 1996 Sidekick as a toad. Just under 3000lbs. How much of a difference will I notice pulling a toad of this size? I've got a retarder so I don't think the weight of the toad even without brakes will make a huge difference in braking ability given the relative weights of the two vehicles. How much will I notice the toad when hill climbing? Kerry 82 FC 35 Toad question - Lawrence Thornell - 05-23-2006 12:48 I tow a 95 4dr Sidekick. I don't think you will notice this car at all. We have the 3208 na engine with no retarder although I use a Brakebuddy on the Suzuki. We towed it last fall from Toronto to Texas and back with no problems. Best wishes. Just bought a 05 Honda Element to tow and it weighs 3,500 lbs. Don't notice it either except when going up hills and the speed drops about 5-10 mph. Never knew it was there. Was freaking out over my first solo drive.
