Gardner,
I'm sure you will hear from others but with reasonable care and common sense you
should do fine. The main concern in my mind would be the road worthiness of the
vehicle. If you have it inspected by a well qualified inspector that should
answer a lot of questions. I think you would want to do that before buying the
coach anyway. If you ask the Florida members who would be good to do the
inspection in the location of the purchase I'm sure someone will probably be
able to help you.
Since you state that you have had limited experience driving something this big.
I would give some serious thought to sticking to the interstate system. When you
exit for fuel, food or rest plan out the exiting where you will only be making
left turns. It is much easier to turn left than right. Even if you have to go a
few blocks further to accomodate the left turns you will be safer doing it.
Cutting short making a right turn in these heavy Bluebirds and hitting a curb
can damage a tire that might fail later doing 55 down the highway. I have drove
big trucks for the past 45 years but I still try to plan my trips around left
turns. It gets to be second nature after a while.
