Top speed? - Scott Forman - 08-12-2006 06:26 My 82 FC now sports a 225 hp turbo, but to the best of my knowledge it still has the tall NA gearing in the diff. I can get maybe 68 mph out of my bird flat out. I believe my speedo to be pretty accurate as I have compared it to a pace car. Does this seem normal? I am not really interested in running that fast anyway, but I see a lot of folks talk about getting better than 70mph out of their FC's and mine wouldn't do that downhill with a tail wind. I have seen the charts on vintagebirds, but didn't know if they would be accurate for me since I have the engine swap-out. Thanks Scott Forman 82 FC35RB Memphis Top speed? - davidkerryedwards - 08-12-2006 07:00 I've got a 210hp presumably with the 5.29(?) gears and I can get about 69 on the speedo before the governor cuts in. At what rpm is the 225hp governed?
