Rediline relay noise - mrkane1952 - 11-17-2006 09:11 Greetings All: Anyone have a suggested modification to cure the noisy Rediline relay? Perhaps a replacement latching relay that won't hum? I would like to keep the option of using the Rediline, but the noise is too obnoxious when in an otherwise quiet environment. Thanks-- M.R.Kane '85 PT40 Rediline relay noise - one_dusty_hoot - 11-17-2006 13:54 M, I do not have a Rediline to compare but I do know this. Many times a coil will hum because the laminations of the metal becomes loose. I have seen this come up before on a forum posting but that is the extent of my recall. You might try insulating the base of the coil from the enclosure with some stand-off insulators to reduce the resonance. If ya want, I'll see if I still have one around here. I put it in and then shortly after, installed a Xantrex 2,500 watt inverter/charger. So, the rlay comes out permanently with the inverter update. Where r u from? Does your dash a/c work?
