I spotted a 198+ vintage pusher nested in a Garage in Fontana
California. (Valley Blvd across from petes tire). I drove back to the
location and introduced my self to the owner, Mack. We swapped
stories about the mods we made to our rigs. I spoke of my under
cabinet coffee maker, new LCD ,and Sporlan to Toro replacement. He
bosted of a cooling path change, Horsepower boost and High rpm ratio
power upgrade he did 8 years ago. Mack won.
Defeated, I offered an opinion in the form of a question. " but won't
the horse power upgrade reduce the life of the engine?" Mack
replied "If it cuts it in half that gets me to 500,000 miles which
leaves me with about 250,000 miles to go". I like Macks "use it till
it breaks" mantra.
Some of you may know Mack. His bus is Rose and Maroon over silver 38
foot, perfect shape,He bosted of making several trips to BB Bird nest
and having factory interior upgrades. Nice guy and worth looking up
if you have an interest in the 6v work.
