Off-Topic glow plugs - Jeff Miller - 12-07-2006 14:31 Okay, but in '87 they added "afterglow" to the glowplug relay circuit to run the glowplugs after starting, much cleaner/smoother idling cold. Wouldn't that be nice for the Perkins on a cold day? - Jeff '87 190D 2.5Turbo (1 of ~500 made) '87 300D Turbo (fastest production diesel sedan, made '87 only) ;~) --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "davidkerryedwards" > > The later MB model 123 cars with the 616 and 617 (4&5 cylinder) > engines had the newer pencil type plugs. In fact, it seems to me that a simple separate switch would solve this problem. You could keep the glow plugs on as long as you wanted. Nice cars. Tom seemed to indicate that pencil plugs were available for the Perkins. Anyone know where?
