Does anyone have a PURADYN OIL FILTER on the BB? We have one on our
1984 1/2. This was a option. Wonder where to get a filter for this
unit. It is about 8 x 8 caniter filter with a gasket.

It's what's called a bypass oil filtration system. It slowly filters
small amounts of oil, as the engine is running, through very dense
filtration media. The dense filter media is usually meant to clean
down into the micron level and would thus reduce the oil pressure on
the engine due to the restrictive nature of the dense filter media if
done inline with the regular filter and oil flow. So it on a
restricted flow basis so as not to reduce the oil pressure on the
engine, siphoning off small volumes of oil from the pressurized system
and then returning the ultra clean oil typically directly into the
sump, hence the 'bypass' name. Actually, it's more of a parallel oil
filtration system. You can go to their web site at
http://www.puradyn.com/ for more information and to find distributor
near you.

Like a lot of these things, you might try eBay. There are several filters
available in the $50 range.
