quick question about the power problem - Robert & Teri Rahn - 02-11-2007 13:27 Hello, Got one more question for everyone please. Why is it that nothing that is 12v or 12v/120v both works? I understand the part about the batteries being possibly shot, but it has been plugged into shore power the whole time and still is. Do these items run off of the batteries even when you are plugged into shore power? It seems to me that if you are plugged into power everything would work.?.....Just curious to know the answer. Any imput is greatly appreciated! Thanks again for all your help. Robert has been having fun. Teri Rahn Kalispell, MT [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] quick question about the power problem - Leroy Eckert - 02-11-2007 15:24 It is more complex than this but your 120v bus charger charges the battery bank which supplies the 12v power to the 12v components through several 12v load centers. Put new fully charged batteries in the bus and if the charger is bad in a day or so you will be right back where you started. Dead batteries and no lights. The time it takes depends on how may 12v components you use and what their power requirements are. Think of it like this. If you leave the lights on in your vehicle the battery will go dead and the car will not start nor will the lights come on. Place your newly purchased 120v powered portable charger on the battery for awhile and walla, the vehicle starts and the lights come back on. Leave the lights on again and you get to repeat the process. The 120v also supplies equipment such as the convection oven, washer/ dryer, electrical outlets, air conditioners, etc. You would not want the 120v to get in with your 12v because that would not be good! 120v introduced into the 12v system would likely cause the batteries to blow up and burn the bus down. Hope this helps you. Leroy Eckert 1990 WB-40 "Smoke N Mirrors" Niceville, FL ----- Original Message ----- From: ernieekberg@...
