Dan,

From what I've learned over the past few yrs, the non-turbo 3208 is still a
great motor...just don't expect to pass the joggers running up the
hills....it's slow, but predictable....the turbo'd motor was a great
improvement for
hill climbing and higher altitudes, as you would expect with any turbo engine,
especially a diesel. I would think the turbo'd 3208 would be a advantage,
but will typically cost more....maintenance wise, it you don't have it, it
wont break.

The n/a 3208 will get you better fuel economy, but it is a dog (from what I
hear). Most owners have the attitude of "Hurry?...not me....I can smell the
flowers and the trees...just don't follow too close behind me!!".

Hey, if the price is right, and it's in good shape, and you like it...buy
it. Make sure the batteries are good, and the tires are safe (good tread, and
no older than 7 or so yrs).

I am looking at buying a 1982 wanderlodge with a cat non turbo engine.
It has 107k miles. I have never seen a 1982 in all the sites that I
have visited. Is there something I should be aware of. Should I even
consider this model?
Thanks for the help.

There's an 82 bird with a turbo on vintagebirds.com. Located in
Kansas, nice people.

I have an 82 FC35 rear bath, though mine has the 225hp turbo. I have
never driven a non-turbo model, but even with the turbo, these things
are not speed demons...they were built during an era when the speed
limit was 55. FC's are not about getting there fast...but my '82 is
a fine coach, and I do not know of any problems with the particular
model you need to be aware of.
