I don't understand... - dl_gish - 02-16-2007 13:51 Ive never had a motorhome and was led to believe Bluebird was a high quality, strongly built, well finished coach worth the money. I heard there was great comraderie among the owners, so I looked in on the group. I read a post from a fella who had to sell his RV and I simply sent him a note saying I might be interested. My email address is Hatteras61, and that seemed to set off a flurry of busybody's intent on making a big deal about a boat name. Point is, I think you guys reactions are really petty. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Dale Gish PS: I used to have a 61' Hatteras. Now I have a 74'. Whatd'ya think of that! I don't understand... - Terry Neal - 02-16-2007 14:26 Dale, I am sorry that you felt the guys were having a good time at your expense. Your perceptions about Blue Bird are correct. It IS a top of the line product. I am afraid that overly reacted to your email address, at least those that know what a 61 Hatteras is all about anyway. So, don't leave this bunch yet. We like to have fun while we are here on the forum. They are a really good group of people who will do anything to help a fellow owner. Personally, I'd like to see a picture of Dale's yacht. I put some flooring in a 42 footer last year- even had Cruise Airs! I'll pick up my bet and winnings. As for being petty, and being ashamed of ourselves , that ain't happening and I respectively refer you to your original post wherein you stated something about the coach being to rich for your blood. Did I read that? Bluebirds are the finest coaches made. If your crew can take care of a ' 74 Hatteras then no problems with the motorhome. Personally, I think it is great that you have a ' 74 Hatteras. I hope you go buy a 120'. Just don't bottom dollar a person who possibly may be in need. Most of us are at least acquainted. Come on over to Destin, FL, I'll have a few with you and I'll pay> My partner is a yacht mechanic just in case.<<<<<<..>>>>>> Leroy Eckert 1990 WB-40 "Smoke N Mirrors" Niceville, FL Dumb like a fox down here on the Redneck Riviera ----- Original Message ----- From: dl_gish To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, February 16, 2007 7:51 PM Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] I don't understand... Sorry I got my nose outa shape...not like me to be snooty. I have boated all my like and have worked my way up the Hatteras line from 34' in 1960 as I suspect many of you have with the fine Bluebird brand. My comment about "too rich for my blood" referred to the fact that it was a '03 model and likely more than I had planned to spend, that's all. What's a going price for an '03 38 footer? Any other advice? Dale Gish > I don't understand... - Richard Hayden - 02-16-2007 15:35 Dale, It think it is great. I'm an ex-boater myself I won't hold anything like owning a 74', or a 10' Livingston for that matter, against you. When I saw the post I thought that Leroy was sending a cryptic message that I didn't understand. I don't think anyone takes exception to you boat. Please don't take it that way and stay with the group. I bought a Blue Bird after the boat for the same reason you seem to be interested in them. Actually, my impression is that a lot of the forum members are either current or former boat owners. Stick with us Dale, You'll enjoy the experience. A lot can be learned that will benefit all of us. I kept a Tollycraft (34 Sedan) in LaConner for about 10 years. Lots of good fun. I can navigate the islands without any kind of charts. Probably even today. Miss the salt though. It has been in my blood for 35 years. You can only have good times on a boat, of any kind. Terry Neal Bozeman, MT 82PT40 74FC34 Richard Hayden wrote: > > Dale, > > It think it is great. Yes, in fact it was cryptic..(ambiguous, hidden, and possibly occult with Smoke and Mirrors. Even magic. ) The message was very simple. It was about the BB family. In a family you cannot pick and choose components, you are in or your are out. I may be out after this. If we are to be a BB family, mechanical functions are just a part of the family. While every owner is responsible for their own financial matters, we as BB family members routinely express our opinion of value, and in doing so somehow attempt to protect current members and wannabee's. Our efforts also protect the value of our coaches. Value may not mean anything to anyone else, but I will protect my interest in my coach, whatever it takes.( the most important part of the cryptic message.) I respectively invite you to review the original post. Some how you cannot own a Hatteras '61 then a '74, while a M380 suddenly becomes a "little to rich for my blood" (would that statement be cryptic?) I didn't make this up, I read the post. Being a prior owner of one of the finest offshore boats ever built (Warlock, Corona, CA) , the post was not about boats, it was about family. It was cryptic, and my brain is sideways. I'm protection the value of our coaches. <<<..>>> Perhaps it's the smile. Leroy Eckert 1990 WB-40 "smoke N Mirrors" Niceville, FL PS- I didn't have a cocktail before writing the cryptic message. ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Hayden To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, February 16, 2007 9:35 PM Subject: Re: [WanderlodgeForum] I don't understand...
