electric door lock problem on 2000 LXI - luckyron1 - 02-16-2007 04:35 This happened at the same time. The keypad light stopped lighting when we tapped in the numbers. The storage compartments locks still lock/unlock using the pass code but the entry door deadbolt will not. Upon entering the passcode, we can hear a click in the vicinity of the deadbolt but it won't extend or retract. Luckily, the key works so we can secure and get in and out of the coach. What do ya think? electric door lock problem on 2000 LXI - Ralph L. Fullenwider - 02-16-2007 05:01 Replace the solenoid, you can get it at BB. There is a mechanical pass through on those that connect to the solenoid, they will stick, but in the end I had to replace the unit. Hardest part is taking the inner panels on the door apart. The R&R is straight forward and also a good time to take all the linkage apart, clean and re lube with a white grease, next thing you know, the PM is done. About the only things left are the unlock relay or solenoid (one of which is what you hear clicking) and the possibility of loose or disconnected linkage from the solenoid to the lock or a faulty solenoid. Removing the interior trim on the door is straightforward and this will allow you to see exactly what is happening inside. You may have to destroy the wood plugs covering the screws if you have a wood panel on the door. They are available at any Lowes or Home Depot. Rich D. That sounds like a winner. I've been looking for a good reason to disassemble the door and finally clean up the mechanism. I wonder if I can get the part from someone other than BB? |
