Bird fill pipe - Bob Lawrence - 04-26-2007 10:58

Hi group,
Last week we went out on a short rally with some other birds and used
the bird fuel fill pipe that I got from the Corvette Correction in
Sequin, Texas. It is owned by Bill Dawson who has an 86 bird.
Gotta tell ya it works great!

It slips down the fill and rides on the lip of the pipe. I leave it in
all the time.

What I found is at full speed, it cuts down the overflow by 50%.
At low speed there is no overflow. For the price of 36 bucks (including
shipping to Tacoma) it seems to be worth it.

I am getting 3 of them to give as gifts.

Something to consider if you don't want to get wet.

I use a item bought from West Marine, Basically it is a sock with
chips inside you put it around the fuel filler nozzle so that it
slides down and covers the opening between the fuel gun and the
filler neck. When fuel backs up this stops it from spashing out at
you, work good and costs a couple of bucks.

Bob,
I also use the fuel collar from West Marine. I keep it in a
plastic food container when not in use. It's cheap so I have three.
Well, I had three, one of them is still on the nozzle at a service
station in New York State.

Yeah,
I use them also in relation with the filler tube...finally don't have
to drop some kitty litter on the spills of the past.
