First time I could get access to the Internet. We're on the road, made
it to Torrington, WY. Coach is great. A few things here and there I
want to fix and/or change but she's running well. Did notice it's
eating about a quart of tranny fluid every 800 miles or so, that
normal? No leaks that I can see. I'm keeping it topped off.
That's about it. I'll be back in touch when I can find more Internet access...

Ryan you said "tranny fluid". I hope you meant engine oil. If you were using
a quart of transmission oil every 800 miles you'd have a big leak somewhere.
800 miles on a quart of engine oil is within DD tolerance.

Ryan, Your DDv92 likes to find its own oil level. You can waste a lot of
oil topping off the last half gallon of oil every few days. Don't add until
it's down a full gallon to the "add" line. Then consider adding just half a
gallon and see how it does. I was advised by at least three experienced
mechanics to run straight 30weight oil instead of the more readily available
multiweight 15x40w. In various conditions, your engine will use more or
less oil. High heat and high loads require more. Oil consumption is a way
of life with an 8V92 but I sure liked how it performed.

The 8V92 requires straight 40W oil and DD recommends nothing else. The
difference between the two marks on the dipstick is six quarts or 5.75liters.

If you get to Billings or Bozeman, call me at 406.579.9758 cell. I am
in one city or the other most of the time. You meant to say engine oil,
not trans fluid? My 6V82 uses about a quart every 1,000 miles or so.

Good idea, Terry. Wallace Craig had tranny fluid in his coolant. Not good.
After we left a rally, came upon Wallace and Faye on the side of the road. When
tranny and coolant mix, it makes a huge nasty mess. Hopefully, all he needed
to do was top it off.
