3500 Miles. 10 Days. Not One Problem. Thanks!!! - Alan - 05-07-2007 08:47

I just made a round-trip from Dallas to San Diego in my 87FC35 with
stops in the Mojave Desert, Grand Canyon, and places in between. I am
extremely happy to report that I did not have even the smallest
opportunity to bring out the toolbox on the entire trip! My old 77
GMC (which had been completely renovated) would probably have made it
but I would have been working on the Onan generator by El Paso and a
bunch of other things along the way. ...So needless to say, I'm very
happy with the 'Bird!

This was the biggest test of my 'Bird since I bought it last August.
I've put a total of about 13,000 miles on it without a drive-ability
issue, but I was a little concerned with such a long drive. I put oil
in it once and gas a couple of times. That's it! Maybe I'll submit a
pic of it in the Mojave for "Coach of the Week". Smile

Thanks to all of you that have helped me do maintenance and repairs on
it over the last few months. When I bought it in August it had hardly
been used in 6 years. What a great testament to the users of this
forum.

What a trip. I think the ole Bird is the one testifying don't you? Just one
more reason to own a well maintained BB. I wanna go next time.
