Gen. Fuel pump - M.L. Perkinson - 05-30-2007 07:54

I recall email about a gen fuel pump but could only find Randy's info on diesel
one.

I have a gas Kohler and when changed oil there was gas in it.

My mechanic thinks the first check would be the fuel pump. He has a source that
rebuilds but it is time consuming and somewhat irritating.

I have looked at past emails but could not find a source for obtaining a fuel
pump. Any help would be appreciated. Maury 80 fc 31'

Hey Maury,

Before I went out and bought a new fuel pump I would check a stuck open float
in the carburator. The last two times I saw gas in the oil, 1) in my riding
lawn mower and 2) in a friends riding lawn mower, it was a stuck float. That
allows gas to run right through the engine when crank it. It is worth checking
out. Good luck.
