Chassis Heater operation - Dale Cooper - 06-13-2007 05:21
Question concerning the chassis heaters (the ones that operate on
Engine coolant)
I have turned up the thermostat, nothing happens, does the ignition
need to be on? or does the engine need to be running and up to
temperature, another switch that needs to be on?
Still new to Blue Bird and Still learning.

Engine needs to be at operating temperature, winter switch on, thermostats on,
and gate
valves in the hoses open. (They are visible in the front wheel wells or by
looking up
between the engine and wheels)

Dale,
There are power switches right next to the vents... Check to make sure they are
on and the thermostat is on and above the room temps...

Older birds have a "winter" valve to turn on before the chassis heat
will work. (Sorry, I don't know where it is.)

Take a look under your coach, just about where the steering gear is
located at. There should be a vlv that has a hose goes to and from.
This will be the main operational vlv to opperate the water heaters
throughout the coach. Also if your coach is like mine there is a
switch above the drivers area that controls a pump back by the water
tank (under bed). This pump helps move the water from the front of
the coach to the back and then back to the front. You should be able
to hear this pump working when you start it up by listening for it
back in your bedroom.
