Toilet emergency...Help! - dspithaler@... - 08-31-2007 09:49 Hi Juergen Mine has a shut off in the vanity for the toilet. There is a sprayer under the vanity that has a door that drops down on the street side that has a shut off in the copper line that goes to the toilet. It is hard to see because it is behind some other plumbing. Does yours have that sprayer & the drop down door in the vanity? Don 89 SP 36' Butler, PA Howard hit the nail on the head. I had the same problem with my toilet years ago. Several times actually. Each time it was a piece of built up calcium in the water shut off solenoid. I installed a water shut-off valve right behind the toilet and a electric shut-off switch next to it. Also put an inline filter screen between the shut-off and toilet inlet. Havn't had a problem since. BB dropped the ball indeed, by not having an accessable shut-off. My original one is under the kitchen sink behind some panels that have to unscrewed, its hard to find, you need a flashlight, and if you forgot to shut off the pump, or hooked to external water supply, you just might drown in your own coach. I have the original toilet, and don't even know how to take it apart to look at anything. Any suggestions? I am having to keep my water pump off now, and it is quite inconvenient & will create a challenge for taking showers tomorrow morning. Help! I'm assuming you have the air toilet, same as our 1987 PT38. On 8/31/07, Scott Forman <sforman@...> wrote: > > I am at a Football tailgate, and my toilet will not quit filling. However, I will still need instructions of how to fix, if anyone has insight.. I have an electric Microphor, and the shutoff is in the wall behind it. I've only had occasion to use it when removing the toilet to remove the black tank, but I THINK I could possibly get at it without removing the toilet. When the top is off the back of the toilet, there is a fairly good-sized opening in the back of the toilet where wiring and water come in. The valve is visible back there. The troubleshooting in the microphor manual at http://www.microphor.com/pdf/LF-220_Manual.pdf says "Water continues to run. Obstruction in water Solenoid Valve. Remove and inspect Solenoid Valve - see Solenoid Valve Cleaning" The latter section says: Solenoid Valve Cleaning 1 Disconnect the power by removing the two blue wires from the solenoid. 2 Disconnect the water supply line at china end. 3 Remove two screws securing the solenoid to the mounting bracket. 4 Pull solenoid away from the Vacuum Breaker. 5 Remove water supply tube. 6 Remove four (4) screws from Solenoid Valve Body and remove spring and diaphragm. 7 Clean holes in the diaphragm if clogged. Inspect solenoid for debris and clean. Reassemble in reverse order. Truitt - 08-31-2007 12:09 Scott, I had mine start leaking at RIV last year. I replaced the old OE toilet with a new china one and put in a cut off valve while doing the change. You might want to add a cut off valve tomorrow to get you through the weekend. I was dumbfounded that BB did not have a cut off on the toilet. When you consider all the other redundant items on the coach someone dropped the ball.
