Befor I go and rip up my carpet to move my Seat Pedestal could someone
tell how difficult it is to remove the bolts that secure it to the
floor? That's the drivers side foundation bolt. Thanks

Jon

On my 79 the seat was mounted with lag bolts into the plywood. When I
replaced it I used grade 5 bolts thru the floor. The floor is 3/4
plywood over sheet metal and then the foam.

Jon, I changed seats in my 95 BMC and they were bolted thru the floor. It took
someone under the coach to hold the nuts while I unscrewed the bolts from
above. This was "after" I removed the seat from the pedestal. With the seat
out
of the way, you can slit the carpet as needed to move or replace the pedestal.
I put 06 BB seats in. They were the same size as the originals but with a
different
pedestal because they have lap belts built into the seats themselves. ( Not
seperate
like the older coaches) If you are doing something similar, make sure you know
exactly where the bolt holding the seat to the pedestal was centered. You will
need
that bolt in the same place as the old one.The new pedestals were bigger to
allow
for the new belts being anchored thru the pedestal only. Now I have both heat
and
massage while toolin' down the road. It was mostly just grunt work to switch
the
seats.
