no fuel - ebirder2000@... - 09-30-2007 04:04 The fuel shutoff solenoid is located just above the injection pump which is in the forward end of the V-8 s valley. It requires 12 volts to operate, (open to allow fuel). Absence of the 12 volts will not allow fuel to the injection pump hence no start. Assuming that you have fuel in the filter you haven't just changed the filter have you? Then, the solenoid is where I would start. Steve Anderson 79 FC 35 Poulsbo, Wa. Is there a separate fused circuit between the ignition switch and the pump? Any other ideas? I am assumimg youdo have fuel and the service assembly doesn't need to be bleed. f so let me know. A 3208 usually starts in just a few turns if she's going to run. -------------- Original message from "g" -------------- I am still trying to get my 83 to start. Mike, Randy and the guys have given me some direction there, so with my trusty meter and a set of spare hands( my pal doesn't know I'planning to use his hands) I can ring that circuit out and hopefully get this PROPERLY repaired and a test button installed. Vibration over time had caused loose connection to scorch a bit. It would start if voltage was in the 14V range but not below. Installed new wire and connections to ignition switch solving problem. There is another solenoid on frame behind curbside battery slide you might also check, which connects to main starter solenoid.
