Do the modern coaches with the Cummings engine get better mileage than
my 8v92 (5-6mpg)?

Scott, almost ANY 4 stroke diesel will get better fuel mileage than
your 8v. My series 60 gets 6-8 I use 6.5 for all my planning and never
have to worry.

Historically, if memory serves me, Cummins generally *do* get better
fuel mileage than either DD or Cat. Not enough better to sway me. I'm
prejudiced, but the series 60 is a fine engine.

Scott,
When I checked my mileage on a 8.3 Cummins, I got 8 mpg but don't
bother to check now that I am on Bio.
