Mileage on newer coaches? - Scott Forman - 05-04-2008 10:57 Do the modern coaches with the Cummings engine get better mileage than my 8v92 (5-6mpg)? Scott Forman 86 PT38 Memphis Mileage on newer coaches? - p_a_lazar - 05-04-2008 13:13 Scott, almost ANY 4 stroke diesel will get better fuel mileage than your 8v. My series 60 gets 6-8 I use 6.5 for all my planning and never have to worry. Historically, if memory serves me, Cummins generally *do* get better fuel mileage than either DD or Cat. Not enough better to sway me. I'm prejudiced, but the series 60 is a fine engine.
