Glacier NP Recommendations - sfedeli3 - 05-08-2008 21:39 We're planning to spend 4 days up in Glacier NP this summer. Has anyone stayed in the park with their bird? I pulled up the reservation website and they appear to have a maximum size of 35' for the campsites. Is that really the case or just a "suggested" size. Shane Fedeli 85PT40 Hershey, PA Glacier NP Recommendations - susanmarycamilleri - 05-09-2008 01:52 I have been there twice. Once in a 28' 5th wheel and a f350 crew cab (total length 45+), and a couple of years ago in my bird. Recollection is that there is plenty of room for both. I believe that there are 3 or four different campgrounds in the park. We have stayed at two different ones with out a problem. There are a couple of parks outside the West Entrance that you might consider. R.E. At least a dozen. Maybe two. Only a few showed up in our campground guide. We went through in mid-August. There were a lot of sites available then. If you want a rustic RV park, on south side of the highway, about 1/4 mile west of the main gate in very woodsy campground with power and some water. (Sorry, don't remember the name of the CG.) Most of the other campground on that strip are pretty conventional though. Be aware that the Trail to the Sun Road does not open up until around July 1st +/-. It will likely be later this year because of the amount of snow in the passes.
