Hey, it's a 9mpg PT-40! - erniecarpet@... - 06-04-2008 07:10 That coach has been for sale for quite a while. If his 82 with red Detroit gets 9, I'm swapping out my 83 silver that gets 5mpg.

No way that one is getting 9 MPG. Also, that coach has been for sale on VintageBirds since 12/2006 - that's a year and a half. Also, I noticed a lot of weeds around the base of the coach in the ebay ad pics. I don't think its moved in a while - certainly not this spring. And, for those that haven't read the vintagebirds ad, its another "must sell due to illness". Jonathan Leifheit Wannabee Hey, it's a 9mpg PT-40! - Dan Carr - 06-05-2008 00:57 On our 82PT40 with the mighty red we get 5.5 under most conditions plus the benefit of slowing down to 30-40 on any grade that requires a 21 speed bicycle to downshift. We did get an impressive 3.5-4 mpg on an 80 mph run across Indiana a few years ago. Had a heck of a tail wind and no toad. The only good red comes in a bottle (or a box). Maybe it needs red wine in the fuel tank? Dan Carr 1982 PT40 6V92 Red Youngstown, OH Hey, it's a 9mpg PT-40! - Mike McMahan - 06-05-2008 01:41 I owned a 1982 PT 40 with the 6V92 red engine. It would average 5.5 to maybe 6.0(downhill coming home from Denver)usually pulling my 24' enclosed car trailer. Didn't really make any difference with or without the trailer.
