Just a good old southerner - birdshill123 - 06-04-2008 13:07

Some of you may remember last year when I was criticized for being hard
on all you confederates. I know this does not have much to do with BB's
but I thought I would post this anyway. Our new to us Monaco was
purchase from a fine southern gentleman in Mcrae Georgia. He goes by
the name "WJ". When I bought this unit he signed over the title without
having one cent in his hands as I was wiring the money. I pointed this
out and he said I seemd like an honest person and was not worried. When
my wife and I arrived he had he unit parked outside full of water and
the AC running. He and his lovely wife insisted on taking us to dinner.
Afterwards he took us on a tour of the local area. He was the biggest
Vidalia onion grower in Georgia. Sold out to Del Monte. He asked me if
I wanted to see his '"sheds". I envisioned a bunch of leanto's. Instead
they were these huge warehouses. maybe 75,000 sf. He was the first
grower to utilize controlled environment. 2 % humididty with very low
oxygen and cool. Then we drove to the family cemetary from 1880. Next
we passed an old shack that used to be a juke joint in the 40's. We
left Monday morning and today he called to make sure everything was OK.
WJ is the most interesting person I have ever met. We will probably
return in a year to visit him and his wife. Real Southern hospitality!!!
