After so many years of having to do the "Ernie" fix- just loosening the bolts that hold the valve together, and letting some water flow out, I replaced the innards with Stephens kit. Now everything works great and all it took was 10 minutes. Don't forget that when you take the top of the valve off that you watch which way the little plunger actuator is psoitioned. I made the mistake when I operated on George Bush's coach last year of turning it upside down. it absolutely will not work that way.

My cockpit roasts in the hot weather because I cannot turn off
the front heaters. I am told that I must replace the Sporlan valves
but I don't have any idea where they are located or how big a job it is
to replace them.

Help!

The Drawing of the Sporlan valve is in the files.
This link may not work. Cut and paste or look in the files.

Four screws, a diaphragm, plunger and O ring seal.
The trick is to find it, it is probably under the coach near the
heater cores, follow the heater hoses.
Stephen Birtles stocks the rebuild kits.
