Norcold N841 for '86 PT-40 - Ryan Wright - 01-01-2009 12:46 OK, I've settled on the Norcold N841 3-way model. At nearly 60", it's about 3" taller than my dead Dometic RM 3807 Royale, but there looks to be plenty of room to shift the fridge down a few inches. I'll have to remove the storage drawer that's currently under the fridge and do a bit of carpentry, but I don't see any hiccups yet. I haven't removed my current fridge, though, so I'm not 100% confident this will all fit, but I'm confident enough to place the order and take my chances when it arrives. I'm going to order this in the next couple of days, but wanted to pass it by the group first in case someone had opinions or thoughts on possible problems I've not thought of. The Norcold seems to have more advanced self-diagnostic features, which drove me toward it vs. Dometic... -Ryan '86 PT-40 8V92 Norcold N841 for '86 PT-40 - Don Bradner - 01-01-2009 14:28 Have you considered the location of the "outside box" and whether the new one will reasonably match up when you move it down? My FC had a small compartment above the refrigerator that I shortened to make the Norcold fit, besides, there is a wheelwell under the fridge on the FC so I couldn't go down. Then path for unburnt lpg fuel., notice the vents open lower than the refer floor for unspent fuel (which is heavy) to escape out of the bus. Contrary to all the active cooling mods we do with the bus refers, venting by design are more efficient when passive. wont be long befor Kurt, Curt or someone designs and runs their refer off the aquahot or detroit radiator. you may want to redesign venting as per the new refer install instructions. not motivated to do the test myself (my refer works) but wonder how long your inverter/battery setup could support a green compressor style $300.refer. might be some advantage to updating the invert/battery with that $aved if a test proved your need could be served inverter way. 3way? I never use it, We have them in 2 seed labs and I always feared the battery drain so never powered it off 12V. I guess it would serve purpose while driving as the Detroit alt would be the fuel? I think they draw amps like a diesel start preheat?? GregoryO'Connor ofTim&Greg 94ptCa --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Ryan Wright" > > OK, I've settled on the Norcold N841 3-way model.
