Koller Gen Set Injection Pump Leak - lcondosta - 01-31-2009 12:48 Running the gen set I have had a strong smell of diesel fuel.I used baby powder to find the leak(a great idea).I was going to replace the injector pump but I found the leak in the shaft of the shut off lever. The shaft nut was loose. There is a seal under this lever,I tightened the nut 8 mm and the leak stopped.Hope this helps.Lee Condosta 85 PT 40 Holden Beach NC Koller Gen Set Injection Pump Leak - timvasqz - 01-31-2009 13:04 some times it pays to replace the brass washers. 8 mm wrenches are short length for a reason. small nut =less stress needed to strip thread. I learned the hard why to pay attention to inch pound and footpound specs. some of the return lines have a path that require mateing a washer and a hollow cup over the injector. an interupted path can cause pressure buildup at places where minimal tightness is all that is required. CurtS hade issues with his injector return lines several years ago that I could never understand how they caused shutdown since it was a returnline after the fact?????? One other great way to find a leaking part is using light blue toilet paper. turns dark when wet Greg of Tim&Greg 94ptca --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "lcondosta" wrote: > > Running the gen set I have had a strong smell of diesel fuel.I used > baby powder to find the leak(a great idea).I was going to replace the > injector pump but I found the leak in the shaft of the shut off > lever. The shaft nut was loose. There is a seal under this lever,I > tightened the nut 8 mm and the leak stopped.Hope this helps.Lee > Condosta 85 PT 40 Holden Beach NC > |
