Replacing the fan on gen set, also air compressor - Bob Lawrence - 04-19-2009 06:31 Hi group, Just uploaded 10 pics of latest project on bird. I replaced the belt driven fan on the gen set with a 2000cfm electric fan. Had the rad rodded out while out of compartment also. Fan cost $33. Wiring kit with thermostat $40. Not bad price. Pretty easy to do (if I did it). Noise level dropped a little, but not to much. Was at 90db before, now about 80db. Also in the process of changing out the 500cfm air compressor with a rebuilt 700cfm. Cost was only 50 bucks more for the bigger one. Cost was $550 with shipping here to Mathis, Texas. Also will be changing out the air governor ($60) and the air protection valves ($25). I am mentioning prices cause people on the site don't mention what it costs them to get the product. Keep in mind, these prices are freight delivered to the middle of Texas, so your prices might vary. Hope this info will be helpful to new guys that don't know what the protection valves look like, and the other stuff. You will find it under Replacing gen fan.
