I have a 84 FC with a 3208 Cat, My Turbo boost gauge reads 6.5 Lbs at full throttle, is that about what it should read?
Thanks, Dale

I get nearly 10 at WOT, with a clean air filter and my homemade
air “dam” behind the grill.

Check your linkage...when pedal is to the metal, the governor arm should be
fully stroked. You most likely are not getting 'full' throttle. Getting WOT
(Wide Open Throttle) is important for proper transmission function and the
Cruise Control will work better also. The EGT will likey be elevated if you are
not acheiving full throttle.

If you have the Bendix Air Throttle check the CC-5 clylinder for leaks and
sticking piston/o-rings. Mostly just simple maintenance item the can be
performed by an owner/operator or any truck shop. I would not suggest an RV
dealer...find a guy who can repair a dump truck.

Richard has way good advice here,I would add exhaust leaks???
To not use an rv shop for engine repair is also good advice. I got blasted with
hate emails from CCW supporters when I warned members that CCW was only good for
step repair and Sporlan Valve service. I was wrong with that opinion as members
still have issues with their steps.

My 86 FC35 pulls 15-17 pounds of boost on a cool day. 12-14 on a hot day. 10-12
on a really hot day. My pump has been "tuned" by the previous owner.
