Rear Parking Lights - They Work - Curt Sprenger - 10-10-2009 03:40

Thank you to everyone who responded!

Went out to the bus, put the key in the ignition and turned to ON,
pushed "R" on the trans. pad, set the Rear Parking switch to ON (LED
came on) , walked to the back of the bus, found the Rear Parking and
the Reverse lights shining bright.

I'll add to my to-do-list to change the Rear Parking lights to also
light up without having the ignition and trans R in the loop. Probable
put  the switch in the battery charger compartment. I'll need to
remember to turn them off!

they might also be wired in to turn on with the security lights so test that
function and the repercussions of a mod.

Curt,

When you find out how to turn your rear parking lights on without having the key
on and the bus in reverse please let us know. This would be a useful
improvement. Although accidentally keeping them on when running down the road
might be a bit irritating to the driver behind you.

Eric and Curt,

When I first got the coach, mine did not work- even in reverse- so I rewired
the switch with 12V+ from another source. This way, I can turn them on while
going forward or in reverse or even when I'm parked and need to hitch up the
towed. I think that BB wired the dash switch to only have 12V+ when the shifter
was in reverse.

Shane,
Thanks. I'd like those lights to work from the dash switch but not the transmission. I'll do the checking/testing prior to implementing a final solution.
