Chassis Heat Problem - Patticake - 11-14-2009 06:46

Does anyone know the name and/or a part number for the front chassis
heater control valve. Note: it is not a sporlen valve.
This is on a 90PT. It appears to be an electric motor operated valve that
controls the amount of fluid to the front heater. It is located above the front
step area. The factory blueprints call it a "heater control valve", but no other
description.

I do not know if my valve is original or not, but this is a picture:

This is a Bosch valve. Sorry I didn't get a part number when I had it out a
couple of years ago to confirm that it was working OK when I was tracking why I
had no heat (it was).

It is not motorized, it is a solenoid valve just as a Sporlan is. The slide
switch on the dash is attached to a timer circuit that simply regulates the
amount of time that the valve is open vs closed.

Steve, I may have that number in my files at home. Problem is I am not home. I
may be able to get my wife to see if she can find it. Make sure your slide
switch is working before you go buy a valve. I forget how that slide switch
works. I would have to look at it again. I think Don Bradner knows how it works
also. I will be on the road in the Big Truck until the end of the month.
