Noisy relay - dreamcatcher7300 - 11-30-2009 05:58

Under my rear clothes closet there four metal boxes with four relays in each,
one of these are setting up a high pitch harmonic sound that's very annoying,
I've cleaned the contacts and stuffed insulation around the boxes, it helped
some but not enough. Has anyone had this problem? if so what's the fix, are
these relays available? Lee Brown 94WB 40

It is a mechanically amplified and transmitted sound through the thing they are mounted on. If it really eats your lunch, mount the boxes on Lord or some other rubber mounts from Grainger.

Gary - Do you know any trick to get Grainger to sell to an individual? Our
local Grainger just turns you away if you don't represent a company. PITA.

Thanks.

Bob:

Some Granger's can be difficult. Here is a solution. Go online and sign up for
a cod account. Make up some company name like Bob's Rv Repairs Inc. You can then
order online for local pickup. I have friend that did just that. We have a real
company account and just walk in!
